The Tasting
-
Appearance & Nose
01Nero d'Avola finds its preferred terroir in Sicily, and in this case, cultivated as spurred cordon on clayey and sandy soils with an alkaline reaction, at 450 meters above sea level, it benefits from ideal conditions.
-
Palate & Finish
02The grapes, hand-picked after mid-September, give rise to a red wine vinified with partial cold maceration followed by 10-12 days of fermentation and skin maceration, before six months of aging in concrete tanks. It presents itself as a red wine with a decisive character, ready to accompany robust dishes of Sicilian culinary tradition, such as lamb stew with herbs or Messinese-style eggplant rolls.
