The Tasting
A guided note in three moments, by our curators
-
Appearance & Nose
01In the heart of the province of Chieti, between the Maiella mountains and the Adriatic Sea, hilly clay-limestone soils at about 230 meters above sea level give the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC a vibrant ruby red with intense violet hues. The long maceration on the skins and twelve months of aging in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by a brief period in the bottle, give the wine a depth that is immediately perceived at first glance in the glass.

Palate & Finish

At the Table
03This Montepulciano pairs magnificently with roasted lamb, pappardelle with wild boar ragu, and aged cheeses.
