Irpinia Aglianico DOC
The Tasting
A guided note in three moments, by our curators
-
Appearance & Nose
01Aglianico, the cornerstone grape of this Irpinia DOC, finds an ideal terroir in this clay-limestone soil at 270 meters above sea level. In the glass, it presents a dark ruby color, releasing a decisive and captivating fruit on the nose of cherry and strawberry, which then evolve into hints of vanilla and sweet spices.
-
Palate & Finish
02On the palate, medium-bodied, the fruit dominates the scene, supported by present but never intrusive tannins and a pleasant freshness.
-
At the Table
03A wine that pairs beautifully with roasted lamb and wild boar ragu.
